Member Spotlight: Kali & Natale Dottore

Two years ago, Kali and Natale walked into Ola Kai not knowing a single person. Today, they are an integral part of our community.
Kali supports Ola Kai in so many ways—helping with social media, screen printing all of our branded apparel, working the front desk once a week, and keeping us organized whenever she’s in the space. Natale is our go-to hype man, always rallying the troops for races and fun community events.
Both of them are incredibly hard workers in and out of the gym, loyal friends, and all-around great humans. Watching their growth in every aspect of fitness—strength, endurance, and confidence—has been truly inspiring. We’re so proud of them and even prouder to call them our friends.
Kali:
What brought you to Ola Kai?We were looking for a more motivating fitness environment and the accountability that comes with group training.
What is your favorite thing about Brigantine?The close-knit, welcoming community.
How does training at Ola Kai support your personal life?It helps me feel more energized and productive in my day-to-day life.
What physical benefits have you noticed (sleep, work, eating, mental, etc.)?All of the above - there has been positive changes in every area, from better sleep and focus to improved overall well-being.
What are some of the biggest benefits you’ve felt since joining Ola Kai?Greater strength and a stronger commitment to staying active.
Which class(es) do you enjoy the most?The 5:30 a.m. class: the energy and encouragement is unmatched
And of course the 7am Saturday Partner workout with Natale.
What’s one accomplishment you’re proud of since becoming a member?Building measurable strength
What is one fitness goal you’re working toward this year?Consistent double-under crossovers
What are some of your favorite things to do on the island?Spending evenings grilling on the beach with friends and biking around the island
Natale:
What brought you to Ola Kai?
We were looking for gym and an environment that we would want to come to daily. A place where we could meet like minded people in the community.
What is your favorite thing about Brigantine?
Tight knit community that will do anything for you.
How do you feel like the type of training you do at Ola Kai helps you in your personal life?
It keeps me productive because I start my day early with a hard workout.
What physical benefits are you seeing (sleep, work, eating, mental, etc).
Mental clarity and better health metrics. I've reduced my resting heart rate nearly 10 bpm since I started with Ola Kai.
What are some of the biggest benefits you have felt since you started at Ola Kai?
Overall well balanced physical abilities. Not only strong but great cardiovascular ability. Working on flexibility....
What class(es) do you enjoy the most?
5:30 AM and Saturday 7:00 AM. The dedication, drive for excellence and consistent class participants makes it the most fun.
What’s one thing you’ve achieved since becoming a member?
Ran a half marathon!
What is one fitness goal you have in the coming year?
I have a few but I'd really like to get my bench press in-line with the other big lifts for my weight.
What are some of your favorite things to do on the island?
I love a late afternoon hangout on the beach on weekday night.
